Smelling like oranges and sunshine by day, wild herbs and dirt and ocean by night, it is a place of tennis courts, stucco, Cobb salads, yoga classes and giant beds.
It is one of those California hotels so seductive to those visiting from the other side of the country — so much so that by day two you are ready to call New York and declare that you’re not coming back.
